STULZ modifies the MiniSpace precision air-conditioning series
Air-conditioning expert STULZ is modifying its MiniSpace precision air-conditioning series for small and medium-sized server rooms. From September, the MiniSpace units will be available in all sizes and cooling system versions with energy-efficient EC fans. Enlarged filter and heat exchanger surfaces reduce the internal loss of unit pressure and enable a high sensible cooling capacity.
Hamburg, July 2009. Hamburg-based air-conditioning expert STULZ employs the latest EC fan technology for its new MiniSpace precision air-conditioning units. EC fans significantly cut running costs, thanks to their high efficiency levels. They consume up to 30 % less energy than conventional AC fans. In the liquid cooled CW version, intelligent standby management reduces the fans’ energy consumption by as much as 70 %.
In EC fans, the airflow can be infinitely electronically controlled, allowing precise reaction to changing output requirements. And there are further advantages: EC fans are maintenance-free, quiet and very sturdy. The service life of their brushless motors is considerably longer than that of conventional AC and DC fans.
Optimised for use in the equipment room
STULZ uses enlarged heat exchanger areas in the MiniSpace units, in order to increase sensible cooling capacity. These units are therefore ideal for use in equipment rooms, where high heat loads have to be removed at constantly high humidity. In addition to the heat exchangers, larger filter areas reduce the loss of internal unit pressure.
Maximum performance with minimal floor space
The MiniSpace A/C units are available in two sizes with three different cooling systems. With a cooling capacity ranging from 5 to 31 kW, they are ideally suited for air conditioning small and medium-sized server rooms. All units are available as upflow or downflow versions. The systems are extremely mobile, and their compact size and low weight allow them to be transported without problem. The C7000 controller inside the units enables user-friendly operation and monitoring. The MiniSpace units can easily be incorporated in existing building services management systems via the RS485 interface. Maintenance, too, is simple and user-friendly, as all components are accessible from the front of the unit. STULZ supplies the MiniSpace units with standard refrigerants R407C or high-temperature refrigerant R134a.
